MAPflow CEO Dr. Nardine Nakhla Named 2025 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner
October 31, 2025
MAPflow is proud to announce that CEO and Co-founder Dr. Nardine Nakhla has been named a winner of the prestigious 2025 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award by WXN (Women's Executive Network).
This recognition celebrates more than individual achievement—it honours a vision that's transforming how Canadians access healthcare. The award recognizes 102 exceptional women whose leadership, innovation, and impact are reshaping industries, organizations, and communities across the country.
Transforming Healthcare Access Across Canada
Since co-founding MAPflow, Dr. Nakhla has led the company to empower 3,500+ pharmacy professionals across nine provinces, enabling over 250,000 patient consultations to date. These aren't just numbers—they represent a quarter million Canadians who received timely, expert care when and where they needed it.
With a 98% patient symptom resolution/improvement rate at follow-up—significantly exceeding the national average of 81%—MAPflow is proving that accessible care doesn't mean compromising on quality. The platform provides pharmacists with the clinical decision-support tools they need to confidently deliver expanded scope services, bridging the critical gap between regulatory authority and practical implementation.
Leadership Rooted in Vision and Purpose
"This award isn't about individual recognition—it's validation that when you build systems designed to empower others, real transformation happens," said Dr. Nakhla. "At MAPflow, we're not just supporting pharmacists; we're redesigning how accessible primary care works in Canada. And we're doing it as a women-led company, proving that diverse leadership drives better healthcare outcomes for everyone."
A Women-Led Company Rising Boldly
As a women-led health technology company, MAPflow embodies this year's WXN theme: "Rise Boldly." With women leading our vision, strategy, and execution, we're demonstrating that representation isn't just about fairness—it's about building better solutions.
Remarkably, Dr. Nakhla joins MAPflow COO Dr. Andrea Edginton, who received the same prestigious recognition in 2024, making MAPflow one of the rare companies with multiple WXN Top 100 Award winners in both Executive Leadership and the Professionals category. This back-to-back recognition underscores the caliber of women-led innovation driving MAPflow's success.
Under this leadership, MAPflow has achieved double-digit year-over-year growth while maintaining its commitment to accessible, evidence-based care delivery.
Impact Beyond MAPflow
Dr. Nakhla's influence extends far beyond her role as CEO. As an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy, she has educated 3,300+ pharmacy students over 18 years across multiple institutions, earning many teaching accolades, including the University of Waterloo’s Distinguished Teaching Award—their highest teaching honour—in 2023.
Her work as a policy architect has shaped the profession itself. Dr. Nakhla co-authored the historic regulations that granted all Ontario pharmacists expanded prescribing authority for minor ailments—regulatory changes that took effect January 1, 2023, and have enabled over 2 million patient consultations in just under three years.
Her work bridges education, innovation, and policy—creating lasting change at every level of the healthcare system. From the classroom to the boardroom to provincial regulatory bodies, Dr. Nakhla has consistently worked to expand what's possible for pharmacy professionals and the patients they serve.
Celebrating at the Top 100 Awards Gala
Dr. Nakhla will be honoured alongside fellow recipients at the 23rd annual Top 100 Awards Gala on November 27 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.
"This year has tested what it means to rise boldly, and our Top 100 Award Winners have shown us what it means to answer the call," said Sherri Stevens, Owner and CEO of WXN. "They've turned setbacks into breakthroughs, uncertainty into courage, and ambition into real impact. Their achievements light a path for others, proving that strength, confidence and purpose are unstoppable—and that when women rise boldly, they change the whole world around them."
A Legacy of Powerful Women
Since its launch in 2012, the Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards program has celebrated 1,833 women, including notable past winners such as Lisa LaFlamme (award-winning international journalist), Princess Sarah Culberson (Princess of Sierra Leone), The Honourable Rona Ambrose (former leader of Canada's Official Opposition), and Dr. Makaziwe Mandela (global activist and daughter of Nelson Mandela).
Looking Forward
The recognition comes at a pivotal time for MAPflow as the company continues expanding its platform beyond minor ailments into chronic disease management and preventative care—ensuring pharmacists across Canada can deliver the full scope of care they're trained to provide.
"To the next generation of women in healthcare and technology: Don't wait for permission," Dr. Nakhla adds. "Build the systems you want to see. Lead boldly, not quietly. The future of healthcare needs your vision."
